Chafing...ouch
Today I ran NINE miles. It feels so surreal. I didn't really plan on trying to do it non stop. Eventually I just got to the point that I was so far into it I wasn't willing to break my streak! At miles 2, 5.5, and 7 I got water, and then had to cross the street every now and then, but I never walked. My pace was ehhh, but I'm OK with it. I started strong. The last 2 miles were killer though!! I had to pray my way through them. My knee was hurting and the chafing...ohhh the chaffing. I have a red band around my waist from chaffing. It's pretty uncomfortable. When I walked in the house I looked like I peed myself, I had sweat 3 inches down from the band of my pants, and my shirt was completely saturated. It was pretty miserable, but I did it!!

Oh my - ouch! Is it from your pants? Maybe they are too tight? The best remedy I know for chafing is baby powder.
Is it from my pants, but they aren't to tight. It's from them being sweat soaked for 2 hours and rubbing on my waist while I run. It's a pretty common distance running problem, I guess I had just never ran long enough to experience it before!!
Ouch! I would definately try some different kinds of waistbands/materials. I'll be doing some live and learn with that too since I will be soaked all the way through the Mud Run. GREAT JOB!! You motivate me. My longest run so far - 2 miles. I'll get there and so will you! Keep it up girl!!
I started to get chafing issues. I buy ladies anti-monkey butt powder (silly name but great product) - it has no talc or foofy scent. It just keeps me from chafing. And, just wondering, do you run carrying the water or do you just have a loop and the water is at that point of your loop?
I don't run carrying water. On Saturdays the society has water spots set up every 2 miles for us. It's nice b/c you know how far you gone. On Wednesday runs we are just now getting to the point that water is needed and we are debating about going out and hiding water somewhere before we start. Wednesdays are at 6 miles now and are going up to 8 soon so water will be needed!!
